Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about SkyGIS.
What file formats does SkyGIS support?
SkyGIS supports E57, LAS/LAZ, and TXT/CSV point clouds on all plans. Core adds DWG vectors, and Enterprise adds RCS, DGN, IFC, LandXML, and CityGML. Vector formats include DXF and SHP on all plans.
Is there a file size limit?
No. SkyGIS uses progressive streaming, so files of any size can be uploaded and viewed. A 200 GB terrestrial scan works just as smoothly as a 500 MB room scan.
Do my clients need an account to view shared projects?
No. Shareable links open in any modern browser without requiring an account or software installation. You can optionally password-protect links.
What happens to my data if I downgrade my plan?
Your data remains stored and accessible in read-only mode. You can download your files at any time. If you exceed the storage limits of your new plan, you won't be able to upload new data until you free up space or upgrade.
How is pricing calculated?
SkyGIS uses graduated pricing per 100 GB of storage. The more you store, the less you pay per unit. There are no per-user fees on Plus and Enterprise plans. See the pricing page for detailed rate tables.
Can I use SkyGIS offline?
SkyGIS is a cloud-native platform that requires an internet connection. However, the Plus mobile app caches recently viewed projects for limited offline access.
What coordinate systems are supported?
All EPSG-registered coordinate reference systems are supported. CRS is auto-detected from file metadata when available, or you can specify it manually during upload.
How secure is my data?
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Enterprise plans support regional data residency, SSO integration, and audit logging. We undergo annual SOC 2 audits.
Can I export data from SkyGIS?
Yes. All plans include data download functionality. Plus plans add selection box export for extracting portions of point clouds. Enterprise includes the conversion engine for format transformation.
Do you offer volume discounts or annual billing?
Yes. Contact our sales team for annual billing options and volume discounts for organizations with large storage requirements.
What browsers are supported?
SkyGIS works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend Chrome or Firefox for the best WebGL performance with large datasets.
How do I migrate from another platform?
Export your data in any supported format and upload to SkyGIS. Our team provides migration assistance for Enterprise customers, including automated batch imports.
